Summer 2014 Update:  HP continues to be an amazing supporter of our programs, continuing for the second year of the 'Friends' program with a very generous, unprecedented donation.
Veeva Systems Logo
Veeva was the second corporation to join 'Friends of Computer Science' here at Chico.  Chico grads in Computer Science are corporate leaders at Veeva and have brought the company's attention to the quality of a Chico State CSCI graduate.  Veeva now recruits actively at Chico.  Veeva Systems is a leader in cloud-based software for the global life sciences industry. Veeva has built offices around the world and ground-breaking products for customer relationship management and regulated content management.

Department Vision

The department prepares students for fulfilling careers in the computing sciences by providing an excellent educational experience within an engaging, friendly, learning community. Our efforts in teaching, research, and service make our department an important regional, national, and international resource center for the advancement of our discipline and for the development of computing and information technology systems and applications.

Department Mission

The Department's Mission is to advance knowledge in the computing sciences by providing our students with the highest quality educational experience. The Department strives to:

  • Provide excellence in teaching;
  • Develop a community of scholars that includes faculty, staff, students and alumni;
  • Provide service to others; and
  • Respond to the changing demands for trained computing professionals.

City of Chico

The city of Chico offers an outstanding quality of life, and is often rated one of the best small U.S. cities. With fewer than 100,000 people, it has the feel of a friendly small town but it is also a cultural, entertainment, dining, and shopping hub of north central California. Chico has a great four season climate, with mild winters and 250 days of sunshine. Chico has an innovative public school system that offers everyone a choice of schools, and has several special programs (e.g., music immersion, Spanish immersion, academic plus). Its location at the base of the Sierra Nevada foothills offers excellent access for hiking, camping, skiing, boating, rock climbing, and fishing. Local points of interest can be found at the following pages:
