The Provost's Undergraduate Awards for Research and Creativity are grants available to undergraduate students at CSU, Chico to complete original projects under the guidance of faculty mentors.

First Annual CSU Chico Programming Contest

Contestants were divided into two divisions. Those who have completed or are currently enrolled in CSCI 311 competed in Division I. Those who have completed or are currently enrolled in CSCI 111 or CSCI 211 competed in Division II. First place in each division won a netbook. Second place in each division won a Wii Sports Plus. Third place won a $50 BestBuy Gift Certificate. All prizes were donated by sponsors. Special thanks go to the members of the CSU Chico ACM Student Chapter. ACM Programming Team Wins Regionals!

Congratulations to our ACM Programming Contest Team Members!
2010 ACM ICPC Pacific Northwest Regional Champions!!
(and qualifiers for the 2011 World Finals)

Our 2010 Programming Teams consisted of (in alphabetical order): Jennifer Coryell, Swapnil Deo, Ryan Feenstra, Katherine Gabales, Abhishek Iyer, Kevin Kane, Mike Lombardi, and David Stolp. Current ACM Faculty Advisor and Coach is Prof. Moaty Fayek. Dr. Ben Juliano was the team Advisor and Coach for several years until the beginning of Spring 2010. His contribution to the team success is greatly appreciated.

Note: Jennifer and Katherine are also involved in the Smart Home team of our college's Blitz Build project this year.

We are so proud of this accomplishment by this outstanding group of students!

Kevin Kane Awarded Prestigious Scholarship!

2010 Scholarship Awards - Each summer the Executive Council of Upsilon Pi Epsilon evaluates a large number of scholarship applications from students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. All scholarship applicants are required to complete a comprehensive application form including a statement on their long-term plans for the profession, a summary of their contributions to their respective UPE chapters and related student activities at their university. Applicants are also required to submit all college-level transcripts and a recommendation from the UPE faculty adviser.
